Banned Book

Mark Twain's masterpiece Huckleberry Finn caused for dispute between the school board of Waukegan Illinois and the african-american father of and eighth grade student. The book is about two ambitious children, Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, but this isnt what causes the commotion; the book was banned in Illinois and many other places because of the use of the "n" word. With the banning of the book, people are not only missing one of the first truly American historical novels, but it is also a moving book depicting an escape from slavery while Huck journeys down the river with a runaway slave, Jim.
